Leak Detection

Do you think you have a water leak and don't know where it's coming from? Maybe you have a dripping tap, leaking toilet or weak plumbing? Whatever the case, detecting a water leak is a very important issue, not to be taken lightly. Not only does having a leak in your home waste water, a most precious natural resource, but it can also cause damage to your home if left unattended.

Peace of Mind with Thermal Imaging
Knowing what is wet is essential to an efficient and complete restoration job.1st Priority Restoration uses state of the art digital Infrared thermography cameras as well as penetrating and non-penetrating moisture metering equipment to quickly and accurately map wet areas of your building. Infrared imaging detects the heat signature of wet materials and shows hidden wet areas. IR infrared photography provides immediate documentation as well as post remediation evidence of structural drying which speeds up the claims process. Many restoration companies do not use thermal imaging because of the extensive cost and training needed to own the equipment.

Checking for water leaks is not a difficult task:
All it requires is checking your water meter reading. If a reading is taken in the morning before going out, or at night before bed, basically, taken at a time when you know water in the home will not be used for several hours, the difference in the second reading, will determine if there is a leak in your home. In other words, if the reading is significantly higher upon your second reading after a period of time of non usage of water then it is more than likely that you have a leak somewhere present in your home. Technically, if you don't have a leak, both readings should be the same or very close to one another.

If you have a Leak:
In the event that a leak is detected by you in your home call 1st Priority Restoration immediately. An unattended leak can cause much further damage than expected so it is better to "nip it in the bud" before serious issues arise. At 1st Priority Restoration, we'll confirm the potential leak, find the leak and fix the leak before any further damage is done to your home!!
