Florida has often been hailed as the “Lightening Capital of the World”, but, did you know that it is the Water Extraction Capital of the World?  Why?? Well, let me count the ways:

From a construction point of view, homes in Florida are prone to water damage since we tend to use our air conditioners 180% of the time, 12 months of the year.  This phenomena has lead to another dreaded word in a Floridian’s vocabulary….CONDENSATION.  In layman’s terms, this means that air conditioners are overworked and they basically start to sweat…..actually depending on the unit, it can start sweating profusely leading to a puddle of water, then a bigger puddle and eventually a deluge.
